TPC POST PRODUCTION GOES WITH SOUNDTRACS DS00

Two Soundtracs DS-00s have recently been installed in to the newly opened audio postproduction control rooms at tpc, the television post produc tion centre of Swiss national television, based in Zürich.

The ergonomic control surface, progressive touch screen technology and practical MADI connection to the Pyramix systems are the main features that led the studio to decide on the Soundtracs DS-00. "In particular the extensive automation features make the DS-00 an outs tanding work instrument for us audio engineers," said Manfred Gysi, audio edi tor specialist at tpc. Esther Heeb, responsible for audio post production, added: "We can do more detailed editing than ever before with the DS-00.”

The DS-00 is a compact digital console equipped with enough DSP for the studio’s purposes and its 40 busses allows them every configuration they require - stereo, LCRS, 5.1, 7.1 – and there is enough power available
that the studio feels the consoles limits will never be reached.

In the studio’s Audio Suite VR2 they have installed a compact DS-00 work surface with two eight-fader expanders for an optimized mix console wi th 32 physical faders. Three TFT touch screens, each wi th six
switchable eight-channel banks, are available on the input section. This large configuration gives an extremely clear and easy workflow.

In the smaller Audio Sui te AS2, the DS-00 work surface is in its most compact form, working via MADI with a
further Pyramix system. All live-sessions - including all automation, presets and routing data - can easily be transferred with a USB key between several consoles, or can be prepared off-line on a PC before the show.
